I'm just sick of this: "Fire Gaile", "I demand refund!!", "Jumping the shark", "I demand Regina to personally eplain why mending doesn't make me indestructible!", "Petition on line: Remove titles", "This week end event sucks!", "The economy is ruined", "Anet is forcing me to grind to have ten GWAMM characters!".

Many of you played several thousands of hours. Try to play that long in an arcade and you will realize how much game GW is for so little money. The game will mostly stay the way it is, take it or leave it. Last time i looked, there were lots of other games out there.

Don't call her Gaile Grey 2 or Reggie :P~ her name is Regina lolol, if you expect her to talk here, read her intro, have some respect on both side, she specifically says don't call her any other names then Regina.

Seriously though, I think people expect her to be like Gaile - showing up in-game a lot, replying to the questions (even the useless ones) and chatting with us... that kinda stuff.

I'm not saying Regina doesn't do her job, but it's true that we've heard less of her in general. I think I've seen her once in-game, but I'd see Gaile every now and then. I understand the importance of replying to general questions, even the idle chat... however, I personally always hated the fanboys/girls posting random questions ("OMFGOMFG WUTS UR FAV DISH!???") or obvious questions ("WHENS THE NEXT DRAGON FESTIVAL?????"). I don't give a crap about the items people gave to her or, I really, really don't - I'm there, I want information on what's up in the game. But I can understand why.

People are still expecting this. You have a different CR, different ways of transmitting information.

With the community we have: never-satisfied whiners who accuse the CR of delaying GW2, not releasing info on it, nerfing this, banning that guy, etc etc... I can fully understand why she'd stop showing up in-game. When she appears people comment on how she does a bad job, WTB new CR, etc etc. The community needs to grow the **** up.

The thing is... it's her job. I've seen Regina posting twice on Guru and I MAY have seen her once in-game, but that's all. Maybe she uses the Wiki more, I don't hang out on Wiki too much (hate the discussion format with a passion) so I can only guess that she may use it more. In this case, maybe I should actually get there and get my information. So should everyone if it's the case.

But give someone with the ability to tackle the fickle mob the position. Preferably someone who is fluent in wit, sarcasm, snide, cynicism and facetiousness and not just a punching bag.

That's pretty much how I feel about it, particularly the bolded part. I do understand why she doesn't want to interact with the community, though, because the majority of posters/players are self-obsessed, juvenile, argumentative and downright rude.

EDIT: Oh, I'm not allowed to criticise the mods? That's bull.

How else would you relate to the community without visiting Fansites? Well?

Of COURSE it's her job to visit Fansites, she just doesn't. And saying that she uses Wiki, as an excuse, is complete rubbish. Once again, wiki is an encyclopedia, Guru is a forum. Ask yourself which one of the two would be more fitted to discussing topics with our Community Relations Manager.

You do not understand, as many others do not. Wiki pages aren't made for announcements, or discussions. They're made for discussing the related wiki page, to make sure the information is correct.

Mods, it looks like my faith in the maturity of the guru forum users was misplaced. There have been some very intelligent points to both counter my original post and to agree with it, but unfortunately there's a lot of pointless drivel in the middle.

I tried, and seem to have failed to simply outline a concern felt by many players. My intention was good, and I would like to state for the record that I don't think Regina is doing a bad job at all. I vastly prefer her work style to Gaile's, I simply though that a bit more discussion with the actual community would help the community itself feel a little less abandoned, as well as in the long run probably decrease the abusive comments heaped at Regina herself.

If this degenerates any further please close the thread mods before I lose my faith in intelligent humanity.

That's why she's not doing her job. Because in order to communicate with CRM, WE HAVE TO, THE COMMUNITY, REACH OUT FIRST. How would you feel if you had a teacher to which you had to go with problems, because he's/she's too lazy to go to the classroom?

That's a reasonable option. It wouldn't take much time out of a dev/balancer's time to post the update notes, after all.
